The late Jacques Cousteau, the ocean of knowledge that is famous throughout the world, once described Sipadan Island as a work of art that is not contaminated while divers around the world voted the island as one of the five best dive sites in the world.
Located 700m from the seabed and only an area of 12 hectares, the only sea island in Malaysia has a relatively small size. Visitors can walk around the island in 25 minutes, but it appeals to a variety of marine life that comes from the sea. Island surrounded by sea water is clean and clear has a wealth of fascinating marine life.
Declared as a bird sanctuary in 1933 by the government of North Borneo then. It was re-gazetted in 1963 by the Government of Malaysia. Wilderness areas on the island to accommodate a large number of species of tropical birds including sea eagles, eagle, 'Add-ons', 'Starling' and birds pigeons. Exotic crustaceans including crabs attractive walnut scattered on the beach and hide in the crevices of plants. You will certainly come across turtles, resident schools of jacks, 'bumphead parrotfish and barracudas while diving around the island's coral reefs.

Closest point to the Sipadan Island is Kota Kinabalu or Tawau. From there, you continue on your way for a 1-hour ride to the town of Semporna. Speedboat ride for 30 minutes will take you to the resort, which is the closest point to the exploration of Sipadan Island.
